My name is Amira.
I eat a lot of food.
I’m a lot of different things, but I’m three things primarily: a writer, a winemaker, and a historian. I also cook a lot. (See above.)
I’m not a blogger by trade, but I write here sometimes about things that I’m interested in.
I have co-authored and published three novels, along with my sister Elena and my mom Kristy: The Sowing, The Reaping, and The Harvest. You can learn more about them on my Books page. I’m working on a new novel called POROUS. And finally, I’m working on a top-secret booze-and-books project called Literary Libations: What To Read With What You Drink. Don’t tell anyone. It’s a secret. You can read about that on my Books page, too.
I run a lot, eat a lot, and drink a lot. I like to be under trees, on mountains, in meadows, on riverbanks.
I’m 28 years old.
I’m a girl.
This blog is named “The Z-Axis” because in college a friend of mine and I wanted to start a music magazine based on the premise of finding weird and off-beat music – music that got “outside the box” or “outside the X and Y axis”, so to speak – that would diverge from the norm. The music magazine never materialized, but this blog did.
